Advisor to Prime Minister on Petroleum Dr Asim Hussain on Wednesday urged the Supreme Court to take action against on-strike owners of the CNG stations. Talking to INP outside the Parliament House, the advisor said that the Supreme Court had ordered the owners of CNG stations to decrease prices and now it should orders them to reopen their stations.
He said that the government had sealed several on-strike CNG stations across the country but crisis of the gas was increasing with the passage of time. He said that owners of the CNG stations were violating orders of the Supreme Court and the government is ready to take action against them again, if the apex court gave orders in this regard.
Dr Asim said CNG stations strike hit the public transport and passengers were facing trouble. He said that illegal prices in gas were approved by CNG association, adding that former minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi approved the prices when he was minister for the petroleum for one month.
