Six Sindh lawmakers on Saturday tendered resignation over dual nationality issue after the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) set November 30th deadline for submitting affidavits on holding of dual nationalities. According to Secretary Sindh Assembly, six MPs belonging to ruling coalition parties have dispatched their resignations to Sindh Assembly Speaker. Nisar Khuhro has accepted their resignations, the secretary added.
The six members had failed to submit their affidavits on holding of dual nationalities in line with the ECP orders, he said. Those who tendered their resignations included Raza Haroon, Murad Ali Shah, Muhammad Ali Shah, Abdul Moeed Farooqi, Sadiq Memon and Askari Taqvi. Of them, two lawmakers belong to PPP while four to MQM.
