The Meteorological department has issued ten days weather advisory for the farmers till 10th December 2012 as under:
(a) Most of the fields in Barani areas are under moisture stress condition, Farmers of rainfed areas, obtaining crop water through tube wells are advised to schedule the irrigation according to the expected weather mentioned below during the decade;
(b) Farmers of irrigated areas are advised to complete sowing before the mid of December to get the optimum yield;
(c) Wheat cultivation mostly completed in upper plains and in progress in lower plains of the country. Farmers may irrigate the crop as per requirement due to dry weather in most of the agricultural plains of the country. Normally first irrigation is given 20-25 days after sowing.
Rain Forecast:
Punjab:Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the province. However, light rain may occur at northern parts during the last days of the decade.
Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa: Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the province. However, light rain/snow over hills may occur at upper parts during the last days of the decade.
Sindh: Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the province during the decade.
Balochistan:Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the province. However, light rain may occur at north-eastern parts during the last days of the decade.
Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir: Mainly dry weather is expected in most parts of the province. However, light rain/snow over hills may occur during the last days of the decade.
Wind Forecast:
Normal wind pattern may prevail in most of the agricultural plains of the country during the decade.
