National Assembly Standing Committee on Human Rights Wednesday decided to lodge a complaint to the President and Prime Minister Secretariats against the Ministry of Human Rights (MoHRs) on absence of its top management from 77th meeting of the committee.
The letter would be written to principal secretaries to the President, Prime Minister and Establishment Division on the misbehaviour and non professional attitude of the Secretary, Ministry of Human Rights, Shaigan Shareef Malik as he along with his colleagues did not bother to appear before the committee.
Expressing displeasure on the absence of the Ministry's top officials, the committee stated that the officials were avoiding the committee as they have failed to comply with the basic Human Rights issues of the people at large. The committee which met with MNA Riaz Fatyana in chair showed concern on display of arms during the by-election held on December 4 in different parts of the country, demanding Chief Election Commissioner to take serious notice of the incidents and issue directives to make upcoming elections free, fair and transparent. The committee members included MNA, Fauzia Habib , MNA Mehreen Bhutto, MNA Jamila Nisar Tanveer, MNA Yasmeen Rehman , MNA Dr Attiya Inayatullah and MNA Khush Bakht Shujaat.
