New Benazir International Airport: Prime Minister directs CAA to accelerate pace of work
Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf directed the Civil Aviation Authority to accelerate the ongoing construction at the New Islamabad Airport site and improve co-ordination of various activities as the project is behind schedule time.
The Prime Minister gave the direction during a presentation by the Civil Aviation Authority on the New Islamabad Airport at the PM's House here on Wednesday to review the progress of work on the new Benazir International Airport. The Prime Minister directed Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) to speed up its work for provision of electricity for the Cargo Terminal Complex. The Prime Minister was informed that 45 percent of the overall physical work has been completed so far; however, nearly 70 percent of the work on the 24km long boundary wall has been completed.
