As many as 824degrees were conferred on students in their relevant disciplines at the fifteenth convocation of the Institute of Business Management (IoBM) held at the institution's campus here on Saturday. The graduates who were awarded degrees including 262 in BBA Honours (4 year), 58 BS Joint Honours (4 year), 210 MBA Regular (I year), 28 MBA Regular (2 year), 32 MBA Regular (3 year), 86 MBA Executive (2 year) and 15 degrees were awarded in MBA Executive (3 year).
Eleven gold medals and fifteen merit certificates were also awarded to the high achievers. Syeda Humaira Akhtar, Hina Rahman, Syed Moazzur Rab, Hassan Ahmed, Sana Habib Dar, Imam Ali Kazi, Javeria Rab Siddiqui, Najah Saeed, Anam Nazneen, Hozefa, Alishba Khatri, Talat Nur, and Abdul Saboor Zaman, MBA (Industrial Management) received the gold medals on their meritorious performances in their relevant disciplines.
In his key note address Shahid Aziz Qureshi, Chairman and CEO State Life Insurance Corporation of Pakistan congratulated the graduating students, saying that as equipped professionals their responsibilities were not over. "You all are entering in professional life with knowledge of excellence. Just don't forget your social role and always give priority to the country against your personal interests", he advised the graduates.
Shahid Aziz Qureshi also advised students with pertinent and practical guidelines to career excellence. He felicitated them, their parents and faculty for this important landmark and complemented the institute in imparting high quality education in business management. Chancellor IoBM IIlahi Bukhsh Soomro while felicitating the graduating students advised them not to halt education process and to get further education in their respective fields.
Your education is not over, he told the graduating students, urging them to continue their education and serve the country with honesty and dignity. In his address Shahjehan Karim, President, IoBM congratulated the graduates, who after demanding days and sleepless nights have earned the right to wear ceremonial caps and gowns. He said that it was a day of reflection and thanks-giving for our faculty, management, and staff, each one of whom worked laboriously throughout the academic year, to make this day possible.
This includes a number of luminaries including our former Chancellors Mahmood A. Haroon, Ashraf W. Tabani, Aftab Ahmed Khan and our current Chancellor IIlahi Bukhsh Soomro, Abdur Razzak Tabba, Abdul Ghaffar Adamjee and other distinguished Members of our Board of Governors. Some of these illustrious individuals unfortunately, are no longer with us, but their contribution is reflected in what this institution has achieved.
