Youth Engagement Services (YES) Network Pakistan in collaboration with Institute of Agricultural Extension and Rural Development Faculty of Social Sciences organised award ceremony of "Youth Social Enterprise Competition 2012" at New Senate Hall University of Agriculture, Faisalabad on Saturday. Professor Dr Asif Ali, Director, Office of Research Innovation and commercialisation (ORIC) presided over the ceremony while Ali Raza Khan, Chief Executive Officer of YES Network Pakistan was the Chief Guest.
Addressing the participants Dr Asif said that Pakistan is blessed with genius Youth with major chunk of population. He urged the Youth to exploit their creative and innovative potential in order to bring positive change in this society. Ali Raza Khan said that his organisation is pursuing social as well as entrepreneurial advancements in Youth keeping in view to harvest prosperity for the Nation.
He said that his network has been consecutively visiting more than 1,200 organisations for the promotion of social enterprise competition. He added that students from 25 universities from all around the Country have participated in Youth Social Enterprise Competition in 2012 and a large number of Young Scholars would take part in future competitions as well.
Dr Ashfaq Ahmad Mann highlighted the role of social scientists in order to promote social reforms and entrepreneurship among the masses for bringing positive change in the society. Distinguished students awarded cash prizes and certificates in the ceremony. Miss Fayeza Khan won 50,000 rupees prize for innovative entrepreneurship ideas in 2012 competitions.
