Law Enforcement Agencies (LEAs) on Saturday claimed to have arrested some 50 suspects including a son of senior member of banned outfit Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and recovered huge cache of weapons from them. According to official sources, Khwaja Ajmer Nagri police have arrested a man namely Asmatullah son of Haji Muhammad Yaqoob from sector 5-C of North Karachi and recovered a hand grenade and a pistol from him.
SHO Afzal said the detained person, who was the son of assistant chief banned TTP, was dealing all affairs on behalf of his father, as he was absconder. SHO said he was arrested when he went to a mobile shop for collecting extortion. A case 533/12 was registered against him. Meanwhile, West and East zones police raided at Bilal Colony, Ajmer Nagri, Gulbarg and others and detained over 40 suspects with weapons. Further investigation was underway.
