The Punjab government rigged the recent by-polls on a massive scale and the Election Commission should take action in this regard, said Deputy Prime Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Sunday. Addressing a public gathering, the PML-Q leader said that if the Election Commission did not take any action, it would be a matter of concern.
He said that the Punjab government had diverted funds set aside for southern Punjab to build the Lahore Rapid Transit Bus project and the 'Jangla scheme'. "Nawaz Sharif remained in power several times. He should explain how many times he intended to make a new Pakistan," he said.
Elahi criticised the Punjab government, stating that the law and order situation in the province had deteriorated.
The PML-Q leader claimed that there had been 100 robberies in the same neighbourhood where the Chief Minister himself lived.
