Violation of pricing formula: Ogra to take action against LPG marketing companies

The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) has decided to take action against the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) marketing companies' reluctance to adhere to the reduced pricing formula of the authority. This was stated by chairman LPG Distributors Association, Irfan Khokhar in a statement after a meeting with Chairman Ogra Saeed Khan here on Sunday.
The statement added that the Ogra chairman took serious note of the reported violation of some LPG marketing companies by not supplying the LPG to the masses on reduced prices. It said that the Ogra will constitute teams which will conduct surprise raid on the plants.
The teams have been empowered to seal those plants on the spots that are involved in supplying LPG to the consumers on old prices. The statement further said that the Ogra chairman also assured the chairman LPG Distributors Association that the authority would ensure LPG to the masses at Rs125 per kilogram.
Khokhar while welcoming the Ogra+IBk-s decision said that the government initiative to provide LPG on reduced prices will give some relief to the poverty stricken people. He also came harsh on the LPG marketing companies, saying that these companies have established their monopoly and are engaged in looting the poor masses.
