Financial assistance to flood victims was distributed in Punjab among 27303 families in Taunsa, Shujaabad and Layyah districts through Watan Card centres. This was disclosed by Director General Provincial Disaster Management Authority, Mujahid Sher Dil while addressing a review meeting, here on Monday. Mujahid Sher Dil said that rehabilitation and financial assistance programme for flood victims by Punjab government has been appreciated world-wide.
He said that, by provision of model villages to the flood victims of 2010, through rehabilitation programme, Punjab government has set a great example. He said that government is also grateful to those donors and social organisations and philanthropist who have taken active part in this programme. He said that Taunsa Sharif, Shujaabad and Layyah Watan Card Centres have been closed after completion of work.
