At least four people including a police constable were killed in different incidents of violence in the city here on Thursday, police and rescue sources said. As per details, a police man was shot dead by unknown armed men in Malir area in the limits of Malir City police station.
The deceased was identified as Shamin Ahmed, 48, son of Abu Zafar. Police said that Shamim was on his way when unknown men riding motorcycle intercepted him near Yasin Cycle Shop and penetrated three bullets into his body. As a result, Shamim received serious bullet injuries and died on the spot. The attackers managed to flee. The deceased was a resident of Jouharabad area of Malir and was deployed at Malir Court, security Zone-I. The body was shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre for medico-legal formalities. The motive behind the murder could not be ascertained. Police has registered an FIR and started probe into the incident.
In another incident, a young man was gunned down by unidentified gunmen in Sharifabad area falling in the limits of Sharifabad police station. The deceased was identified as Mohammad Shabbir Abba, 27, son of Syed Shabbir-ul-Hassan, who was a resident of Liaqatabad block-D, FB area.
Police said that unknown armed men targeted Shabbir with multiple gunshots near Masjid Shuhada. The deceased used to run stationery shop in the same area. The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for post-mortem. Similarly, a man was shot and killed, when unknown armed men opened indiscriminate fire at a sweets shop near Gulshan Chowrangi in the limits of Gulshan-e-Iqbal police station. The deceased was identified as 18 year-old Arsalan, son of Saleem.
Police said that unidentified armed men emerged outside the shop and opened fire as result Arsalan received severe injuries and died on the spot. The deceased was resident of Scouts Colony. The body was shifted to hospital for medico-legal formalities. Meanwhile, a body was recovered from Ranchor Line area near Hanif Masjid in the limits of Eidghah police station. The identity of the deceased could not be ascertained till filing of this report.
