Hurriyet leader and the Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Political Movement (DPM), in occupied Kashmir, Firdous Ahmed Shah has said that Kashmir is an international dispute and peace in South Asia was not possible without settling it in line with the Kashmiris' aspirations and the relevant UN resolutions. Firdous Ahmed Shah strongly denounced the sentencing of Kashmiri youth to life imprisonment by Indian courts, Kashmir Media Service reported.
He said that through such tactics New Delhi could never succeed in suppressing the ongoing liberation movement in the occupied territory. Expressing serious concern over the miserable plight of the illegally detained Kashmiris languishing in different jails, he appealed to Amnesty International and the International Red Cross to impress upon India for their release.
