Imran Maqbool will take over as President/ CEO of MCB Bank Ltd on December 22 from M U A Usmani, who will retire on attaining the age of 70 years, according to a decision taken by Board of Directors of the bank. The board, which met in Lahore on Tuesday to approve the budget for 2013, also decided the change, as per SBP requirement. Usmani was President of MCB for over two years.
Earlier, he had retired as head of Treasury in MCB after 46 years of banking experience. Imran Maqbool is working with MCB Bank Ltd as Group Head - Commercial Branch Banking Group (CBBG). He is highly qualified professional with over 25 years of corporate banking experience in different markets in Pakistan. During this period, he worked through business environment of growth, economic downturn, intense remedial portfolio process, law and other deterioration, and sovereign debt rescheduling.
Maqbool has done MSC in management from Sloan School of Management, Massachusetts Institute of Technology Cambridge, MA, USA and MBA Finance from Institute of Business Administration, University of Karachi. Prior to joining MCB, Imran worked at Citibank as well as Bank of America. He started his carrier with Exxon Chemical (now Engro Chemical).
