Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that Punjab government has utilised unprecedented funds for the development of education sector and equipping the youth with the latest knowledge. He said if Musharraf, his cronies and the present corrupt rulers of Islamabad had not plundered national wealth, much more funds would have been available for the promotion of education.
He said that young generation is a national asset and the nation has high hopes of it and it will have to transform Pakistan in accordance with the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal. He said that no obstacle is too big if one is determined enough and the youth through their hard work and talent would have to make Pakistan a donor country instead of a bagger country.
He was addressing Toppers Convention-2012 at Alhamra Cultural Complex, here today. Provincial Ministers, Assembly Members, Vice Chancellors, heads of educational institutions, teachers, parents and a large number of boy and girl students were present. The function was also attended by position-holders of Azad Kashimr, Gilgit-Baltistan, Islamabad and all the four provinces. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif distributed cash prizes of more than Rs 11 crores among the position-holder boy and girl students and heads of educational institutions.
