At least 11 people including five security personnel were injured when unknown motorbike riders hurled hand grenades near Risalpur academy run by Pakistan Air Force on Tuesday. According to military sources, two attackers riding a motorcycle hurled two grenades at gate No 3 of the Risalpur cantonment where a large number of young applicants had turned up for the recruitment test, injuring 11 people including five security personnel.
Sources said that some militants tried to enter the cantonment area but failed owing to heavy armed guards' presence at the gate. The militants who came on motorbikes, managed to escape. The injured were shifted to Nowshera Headquarters Hospital and emergency was imposed in nearby hospitals. Security forces cordoned off the area and started search operation for hunting the suspected persons.
