The University of Veterinary and Animal Sciences (UVAS) Lahore and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto University of Veterinary & Animal Sciences (SBBUVAS) Sakrand, Sindh, inked a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen teaching, research and professional services at par with international standards.
The MoU was signed by UVAS Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha and SBBUVAS Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Jaimal Dhanani at Syndicate Room. The primary purpose of this memorandum of understanding is to engage both institutions in collaborative and co-operative efforts for academic pursuits. The major areas of collaboration include development of curricula, on-line education through videoconference and joint symposia for uplift of the veterinary education in the province of Sindh.
SBBUVAS VC Professor Dr Jaimal Dhanani said the UVAS would provide capacity building training programmes for faculty members as well as non-teaching staff. He said UVAS was playing an important role in the uplift of agro-economy and making utmost efforts to uplift the livestock sector in the country. UVAS Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Talat Naseer Pasha said Pakistan was rich in livestock treasure and "we could improve the national economy by developing this wealth."
