An international conference on "Cognitive Behavioural Approaches in Psychological Interventions" held at the Government College University, Lahore, under the auspices of Psychology Department and Pakistan Association of Cognitive Therapists (PACT). Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman inaugurated the conference in which eminent psychologists from the United Kingdom and Sri Lanka also participated.
As many as 14 research papers were presented at the one-day conference which highlighted that the discipline of psychology has made remarkable advancement in the last one decade and people facing mental disorders be brought to professional psychiatrists instead of fake spiritual healers. Addressing the opening ceremony, Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Khaleeq-ur-Rahman said that human behaviour is the most complex phenomenon in the world. He paid tribute to Professor Dr Ajmal who established the Department of Psychology in the Government College, Lahore.
Government College University Lahore on Thursday organised a Painting Exhibition in collaboration with the Punjab Council of Arts at GCU Minhas Art Gallery. GCU Vice Chancellor Professor Dr Muhammad Khaleeq-ur-Rahman inaugurated the exhibition while Punjab Council of Arts Deputy Director Muhammad Naeem Ehsan and GCU Fine Arts Chairman Dr Erfan Ullah Babar were also present.
Almost 35 paintings of renowned artists Khalid Iqbal, Mian Ijaz ul Hassan, Shahnawaz Zaidi, Rahat Naveed, Ghulam Mustafa, Dr M Ail, Maliha Azami, Kh Nazar ul Islam, Mehmood Jaferi, Erfan Ullah Barar, Munawar Mohyuddin, Kehkashan Jaferi, Dr Shahida Manzoor, Iqbal Khokhar, Sumera Jawad, Abdul Khaliq, M Arshad, Shehla Farooq, Saba Rashid, Arif Khan, Imran, Sulman, Hira Mustafa, Saira Dar, Ali Azmat, Aneela Zulfiqar, Shumila Khan, Shahidi and Atif Iqbal Qazi were displayed in the exhibition.
