A cargo volume of 42,771 tonnes comprising 39,507 tonnes of import cargo and 3,264 tonnes of export cargo inclusive 391 loaded & empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Saturday. The total import cargo of 39,507 tonnes includes 22,074 tonnes of diesel oil; 9,310 tonnes of palm oil; 6,131 tonnes of coal and 1,992 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 3,264 tonnes includes 238 tonnes of rice; 703 tonnes of wheat and 2,323 tonnes of containerised cargo. MV Princess-K sailed out to sea during the last 24 hours, while three ships namely CV Lantau Arrow, MV Shang Dong Hai Chang and MT Al-Salam-II sailed out to sea on Saturday morning.
A total number of eight vessels viz CV Lantau Arrow, MV Princess-K, MV Argent Daisy, MT Al-Salam-II, MV Shang Dong Hai Chang, MV Meta, MV Beautiful Rena and MV KPS-1 Alican Bey are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, diesel oil, palm oil, coal and power ship respectively during the last 24 hours. One furnace oil tanker MT Kalamas is currently at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim. One ship namely MT Kalamas with furnace oil is expected to take berth at FOTCO Oil Terminal on Saturday. No ships are due to arrive on Saturday as per arrival schedule.
