A meeting of the Oversight Board of the Strategic Export Control Division (SECDIV) was held on Monday with the objective to monitor the implementation of the Export Control Act 2004 and the functioning of SECDIV. The meeting was chaired by Jalil Abbas Jilani, Foreign Secretary and attended by members of the Oversight Board from various Ministries and Organisations.
A detailed presentation was made by the Director General SECDIV, highlighting the performance of the Division. In the meeting, the participants reiterated Pakistan's unequivocal commitment to non-proliferation of weapons of mass destruction. The members expressed satisfaction at the steps taken by Pakistan to meet its international obligations as a responsible nuclear-weapon state. Pakistan's close co-operation with international community in the field of export control and non-proliferation was appreciated.-PR
