Sindh University (SU) administration has started bringing reforms on the campus in a bid to ensure security measures with installing electronic gates inside the university as a new electronic gate has been installed at the entrance of Arts Faculty Building.
A statement issued here from Public Relations Office said Vice Chancellor Dr Nazir A Mughal inaugurated the electronic gate that installed at the main thoroughfare of Arts Faculty Building, University of Sindh, Jamshoro. Addressing the inauguration ceremony at Arts Faculty building, the VC said no university could provide quality education and run smoothly unless it ought to be endowed with peaceful environment.
He said he was striving to make the SU safe and sound so that the objectives of imparting higher education with involvement of faculty into community affairs might be ensured. Dr Mughal appealed to the leaders of nationalist and political parties to stand by the university administration in order to de-weaponise the students' wings, adding that gun culture existed on the campus for 40 years which could not be eradicated overnight as he did not possess Aladdin's lamp but with the passage of time things would be heading to right direction. The ceremony was attended by Registrar Mohammad Nawaz Narejo, Dr Abida Taherani and others.
