While talking to media persons on Wednesday after attending the ECP hearing about horse-trading in the Senate elections, the information minister said that it was the constitutional obligation of Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to probe the horse-trading done during the Senate elections.

Information minister claims Senate election was rigged

Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is demanding to probe into the matter of horse-trading and those, who had pummelled the sanctity of the vote, should be duly punished, Marriyum cited.

ECP should require law enforcement and intelligence agencies to conduct inquiries regarding use of money/Illegal consideration in the election, Marriyum reiterated.

Earlier on Monday, Marriyum Aurangzeb said that Senate election was rigged by the fake democratic faces and non-democratic forces.

The federal minister said that the people of Pakistan were aware how the rigging was manoeuvred done in Senate election adding that its consequences would be seen in 2018 elections, when the people would give a befitting answer to it by heralding victory of the narrative of Nawaz Sharif and PML-N.

She claimed that Zardari and Imran had entered into back-stage collusion, marking the union of two political cousins.

Marriyum further said that the entire Pakistan was watching the antics of those who danced over the finger of the umpire and vowed to destroy everything.
