Patron-in-Chief Korangi Association of Trade and Industry (KATI) S M Muneer, Chairman Mohammad Zubair Chhaya, Mian Zahid Hussain and Vice Chairmen Najmul Arfeen and Niaz Ahmed have showed serious concern over the registration of FIR U/s Cr PC 302 by the police which resulted rejection of bail of factory owners of M/s Ali Enterprises, Shahid Bhaila and Arshad Bhaila, who were in jail since the incident of fire that broke out in their garment factory on September 11, 2012 and facing charges against Cr. PC 302.
They requested to the Chief Minister Sindh and the persons sitting at the helm of affairs to kindly consider modifying Cr. PC 302 as this sad incident was purely an accident and such accidents do occur around the world. Prior to the incident they were one of the leading exporters and their average annual turnover was $15 million employing more than 1200 workers, they added
They further said that it will not be out of place to mention here that the owners of the factory have already got the relief and rehabilitation work started under the name, "Ali Enterprises Affectees Relief Programme" at SF Unit 56, SITE. Their release from the custody will further help them to undertake and complete their co-workers and their families Rehabilitation Programme effectively. This will also help them to restart their production and export business, thus providing employment opportunities to the bereaved family members, besides making a sizeable contribution in the national exchequer, including restoration of the confidence of investors in the country. -PR
