Russian oil products exports rose significantly in November as most refineries completed seasonal maintenance work and demand picked up, Energy Ministry and Reuters data showed. November gasoline exports rose by 21.4 percent and domestic supplies by 9.1 percent, compared with the previous month. Gasoil exports were up by 30.9 percent month-on-month, while domestic shipments fell by 6.4 percent.
Fuel oil domestic supplies grew in November by 17.8 percent on the back of seasonal demand due to cold weather. Fuel oil exports rose by 7.5 percent from the previous month. Rosneft more than doubled its gasoil exports in November to 743,900 tonnes from 348,400 tonnes in the previous month after scheduled maintenance at the Syzran, Novokuibyshev and Angarsk refineries. The Novokuibyshev refinery boosted its gasoil production by 25.0 percent.
Gasoil output at the Syzran and Angarsk oil plants was up by 71.8 and 101.0 percent, respectively, for the month. Total fuel oil exports by Rosneft refineries rose by 19.9 percent, while their domestic gasoline supplies grew by 24.3 percent compared with October. The Moscow refinery, which is controlled by Gazprom Neft , increased its November domestic gasoline supplies by 323.0 percent. Local shipments of gasoil were up by 109.2 percent and fuel oil by 106.1 percent on the back of growing oil processing after major maintenance.
Its fuel oil exports rose by 165.0 percent compared to the previous month. Kirishi, owned by Surgutneftegaz, increased November exports of gasoline by 74.0 percent, while gasoil and fuel oil exports were up by 43.1 percent and 25.3 percent. Domestic gasoline shipments rose by 30.5 percent compared with the previous month. Year-on-year, Russian gasoline exports jumped by 81.4 percent, while domestic supplies increased by 6.1 percent. Total gasoline output increased by 10.2 percent to 3.3 million tonnes from 2.996 million tonnes in November 2011.
Fuel oil domestic supplies rose by 12.0 percent year on year, while exports increased just by 0.6 percent. Total fuel oil output was up by 6.8 percent in November 2012 compared with the same period last year. Russian gasoil exports in November 2012 grew up by 31 percent year on year, thanks mostly to a 37.6 percent increase by Rosneft. Lukoil and Gazprom Neft increased their gas oil exports by 18.8 and 152.9 percent, respectively, versus a year ago. Domestic shipments of gasoil were down by 12.2 percent. Total gasoil production rose by 6.0 percent year on year.
