Shahid Afridi jumps in support of dying hockey legend
Pakistan’s legendary all-rounder Shahid Afridi has once again won the heart of the millions, as he announced to bare all the expenses of Olympian Mansoor Ahmed’s medical treatment.
Pakistan’s celebrated goalkeeper and Olympian Mansoor Ahmed is fighting for life at a local hospital where he was admitted on Friday due to heart ailments after his condition deteriorated.
In a video message the Olympian, who played a vital role in Pakistan’s victory at the Hockey World cup 1994 thanks to his brilliant goal keeping, has appealed to the government and the Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi for medical assistance.

He said, “I am strong, although not many can survive this surgery, but I am strong and willing to live a healthy life.”
Following the appeal, Shahid Afridi, who also runs a social welfare organization, stepped up and announced to bare all the medical expenses of the hockey legend.
