Director General Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) Dr Rizwan Naseer has appealed the media practitioners to play a vital role in changing minds of the masses pertaining to the occurrence of road traffic crashes, which usually resulted to the loss of 518 billion dollar globally each year.
He ascertained that traffic accidents could be prevented by adopting safety measures, creating community awareness and taking practical steps, as a safe community led to a safe nation. He expressed these views while carrying out a monthly performance review of rescue operations, which took place in different parts of the Punjab, here on Saturday at Rescue 1122 Headquarters.
Dr Rizwan Naseer directed each district emergency officer (DEO) to ensure arranging practical training programmes in schools, colleges, universities and other public institutions of his district besides creating awareness about road traffic crashes. "We are working to develop a safer Pakistan," he added.
