Without a shadow of doubt, PTI that has some outstanding individuals in its fold and support of sincere Pakistanis, both within and outside Pakistan who yearn and want a meaningful change in the governance of the country, specialising in various critical fields and disciplines, can bounce back with a practical and nationally popular agenda.
This vast fund of experts can contribute significantly to articulating of PTI's national agenda for change and good governance. PTI needs to focus on national issues of critical importance covering the entire gamut of dwindling economy, energy crises, deteriorating law and order situation, rampant corruption, bad governance, poor health and education facilities, galloping inflation, unemployment, brutal terrorism, spread of anarchy and issues of extortion and targeted killings. The backbone of PTI support is the youth that needs to be vigorously energised, motivated and mobilised, under the mechanics of a well thought-out and astutely constructed campaign blitz. Concurrently, PTI should pursue and obtain endorsement to its national agenda from the respected figures of civil society, business, corporate leadership and the sundry entrepreneurs.
Regardless of the assertions of the ruling clique, the fact, in the domain of public perception, is that the current toothless Election Commission, under the leadership of an honest but ineffective and powerless election commissioner, outvoted by subservient commission members, under a crooked system and a trust-deficit individual at the helm of affairs, it is just not possible to hold free, fair and transparent elections. The demand of PTI to reconstitute an effective, unbiased and independent election commission, is fair in order and this must be pursued, vigorously otherwise the nation will be subjected to a farce election that would create chaos and mayhem.
