Sindh Minister for Fisheries Zahid Hussain Bhurgari has said that agriculture is backbone of the economy of province of Sindh and present government has provided facilities and incentives for progress of agriculture sector. This he observed while addressing balloting of tractors with subsidy to zamindars, khatedars and growers, held at Chief Minister's House.
He said that present government has given many attractions for maximising the production of various crops including wheat, rice and sugarcane etc, with the result the Sindh province is at present exporting many commodities and earning foreign exchange.
Bhurgari further said that present provincial government under leadership of Chief Minister Sindh Syed Qaim Ali Shah has made tremendous measures for development of agriculture in spite of floods and heavy rains, as such the productivity has not affected but it has increased.
He said that the supply of tractors to growers on subsidised rates is also an incentive to maximise cultivation and production of eatable commodities. Bhurgari lauded the efforts of agriculture department and hoped that more incentives will be provided for the progress of agriculture sector.
Earlier, President of Sindh Bank Bilal Ahmed Shaikh said that according to schedule 15,000 tractors are to be provided to growers/zamindars on subsidised rates and as per first phase, today there is balloting of 6000 tractors. He added that the Government of Sindh has given subsidy of Rs 2 lac on small tractors and Rs 3 lac on big tractors. He informed that the management of Sindh Bank has established 160 branches in the country during period of only two years.
He added that there are deposits of Rs 31 billions in branches of Sindh Bank. He said that the Government of Sindh has established SINDH BANK for the betterment and welfare of people, and this bank will provide more incentives to investors, students, craftsmen and businessmen. Later, the Minister for Rehabilitation Muzaffar Hussain Shujra, President Sindh Chamber of Agriculture Nadeem Shah, Chiarman Sindh Abadgar Board Haji Abdul Majeed Nizamani and others performed balloting through computer.-PR
