Leading surgeons from the UK will share their experiences and latest advancement on breast cancer at an international seminar to be held under the auspices of the University of Health Sciences (UHS) here on February 07. The theme of the seminar is "Surgical Management of Breast Cancer: Current Practices." It will discuss in detail the surgical management of breast cancer as recommended by the national Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN), USA, and as per the current practices in UK.
Leading breast surgeons from UK including Dr Penelope Louise McManus, Consultant Oncoplastic Breast Surgeon, and Dr Muhammad Riaz, Consultant Plastic Surgeon from Hull & East Yorkshire Hospital, UK, will be the guest speakers. During the seminar, Professor Zahid Niaz from Allama Iqbal Medical College Lahore would present different case scenarios that would help the trainees to understand the management of breast cancer.
UHS Director, Centre for Innovation in Learning and Teaching (CILT), Dr Arif Rasheed Khawaja said here on Monday the seminar would prove beneficial for the Pakistani surgeons as not only it would update them in the recent advances and techniques in breast cancer surgery but would also provide them with an opportunity to interact with the experts and share their local problems.
