The participants of the seminar on cancer have called upon the philanthropists to generously donate to NIMRA so that if could be able to carry out its noble cause of providing cancer treatment of poor and needy people of the province.
The seminar was organised by NIMRA here on Monday, in connection with World Cancer Day. It was addressed among others by Director NIMRA Dr Naeem Leghari, Registrar Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Professor Suleh Rajar, Dr Shafi Muhammad Jatoie, Dr Muneer Junejo and others. The participants praised the role of NIMRA in diagnosing different types of cancer and providing its treatment free of cost to poor and deserving patients.
They said that the treatment of cancer is very expensive and beyond the reach of poor people, even the middle class people of the country and because of expensive treatment NIMRA needed a huge amount to carry out its function and it could only be possible when NIMRA received donation from philanthropist and donor agencies.
The participants also discussed at length about the causes of cancer and said that many types of cancers are treatable if diagnosed at the primary stage however due to lack of awareness the patients approached the concerned institution when cancer was touching the final stage. They underlined the need of creating mass awareness about cancer particularly the buckle cavity, tongue and breast cancer.
Later the participants of the seminar led by Registrar Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences (LUMHS), Professor Saleh Rajar, Dr Shafi Muhammad Jatoie, Dr Muneer Junejo and the paramedical staff took out a walk from Nimra to Administration Block of LUMHS, Jamshoro.
