Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, who arrived here Saturday on a five-day official visit to the United Kingdom, was warmly received at the Heathrow airport. Accompanied by first lady Nusrat Pervez Ashraf, the Premier is on his first official visit to the United Kingdom after assuming the office as the Prime Minister in June last year.
Pakistan High Commissioner to UK, Wajid Shamsul Hassan and other senior officials of the Commission were present at the airport to accord warm welcome to the Prime Minister and the first lady. This visit will further underpin the existing friendly bonds between the United Kingdom and Pakistan, the Prime Minister earlier told the media on Saturday in Islamabad before embarking on an official visit to UK.
Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf will hold bilateral meeting on Tuesday (February 12) with his British counterpart David Cameron at 10 Downing Street, London, to discuss issues and matters of mutual interest. Other engagements of the Prime Minister include community address at Bradford, meeting with the Pakistani community delegations, calls by British cabinet members and other dignitaries and interaction with ethnic/Pakistani media besides dinners to be hosted by Pakistani Diaspora and UKPCCI in his honour.
