Institutions combating corruption are being used as political weapons, Chairman of the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Fasih Bokhari said on Saturday. Talking to media persons at a local hotel here, Bokhari said that Pakistani society was heading towards moral bankruptcy. He said that employing powers of anti-graft institutions against political opponents was a dangerous trend.
Stressing the need for proper planning, the bureau's chairman said that it was crucial for curbing corruption, adding that there was a need to start tackling corruption at lower levels. Bokhari said that it was also important to hold those accountable who had been involved in corruption in the past.
