General Secretary, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Iqbal Zaffar Jhagra, has said that timely, free and fair elections is the only solution to all the crises being faced by the country. He expressed these views while addressing a press conference at Karachi Press Club. He said that verification of voters' lists under the supervision of Pakistan Army was very important, otherwise it would be impossible to hold transparent elections in Sindh particularly in Karachi.
The PML-N leader strongly criticised the Sindh government for its failure in maintaining law and order situation in the province, and urged the rulers to follow the strategy of chief minister Punjab to improve the situation. He said cases against 400 police officers in Sindh are matter of grave concern for everybody. To a question, Jhagra said, "We are in favour of result-oriented dialogue with Taliban as dialogue is the only solution to all problems."
To another question, he said that PML-N wanted to create new provinces on administrative ground but not on linguistic basis. He said Shahbaz Sharif had introduced many reforms in education, health and infrastructure sectors in Punjab, hence, other provinces should follow the same.
He urged the government to implement apex court decision regarding verification of voters' lists under the supervision of Pakistan Army and delimitation in Karachi in letter and spirit. Saleem Zia, President PML-N Karachi Nehal Hashmi, Ali Akbar Gujjar, Irfan Khan Marwat and Asif Khan were also present on this occasion.
