Malaysian High Commissioner Dr Hasrul Sani Bin Majtabar called on Punjab Governor Makhdum Syed Ahmad Mahmud at Governor House on Monday and discussed various matters of mutual interest. According to a Governor House's spokesperson, on this occasion the Punjab governor said Pakistan and Malaysia are in a joint, close and cordial relationship.
"The people of Pakistan share a common bond with the people of Malaysia. Both countries are co-operating in the global and regional forum and have similar views on challenges faced by the contemporary world," he added. He further stated that Pakistan attaches great importance to its relations with ASEAN community and Malaysia in particular as part of its Vision East Asia Policy.
He also said they need collaboration and co-operation of the Malaysian government in the areas of energy, infrastructure, education, telecommunicaation and vocational training "Pakistan will also encourage the Malaysian private sector to undertake joint ventures and projects with Pakistan," he added. The Malaysian High Commissioner congratulated the Punjab governor on his new appointment and said that Malaysia is greatly keen to extent co-operation and assistance with Pakistan in the areas of power, energy, education and infrastructure.
