Sindh chief minister announces Rs 4 million grant for KPC: challans of 468 plots to be given next week
Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah held a meeting with newly elected office-bearer of Karachi Press Club who called on him at CM House on Monday.
Qaim Ali Shah congratulated the newly elected body and said that KPC is the biggest Press Club of Pakistan, and journalists of Karachi are enlightened, progressive and liberal who had always projected the truth and right aspect together with supporting the mission of human rights in the Pakistan.
Chief Minister, on the occasion, announced a special grant of Rs 4 million for the KPC. He also assured that funds required for the development of Journalists Housing Society at Hawksbay will be released soon. Chief Minister stated that he would visit the KPC next week and hand over challans of 468 residential plots to the members of the Karachi Press Club.
Qaim Ali Shah said that the problems of the KPC would be resolved on priority basis. KPC President Imtiaz Khan Farhan thanked Chief Minister for inviting newly elected body at CM House and extended invitation to Chief Minister to visit KPC. He added that Chief Minister Sindh had approved funds worth Rs 100 million for development works out of which Rs 50 million was released and 50 million are yet to be released.
Qaim assured the journalists that all issues will resolved on the recommendations of Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon. Chief Minister also announced to form a Co-ordination Committee, which will be comprised of Waqar Mehdi as Co-ordinator, Aamir Latif and Director General Lyari Development Authority will be the members. The committee will submit its report within a week. Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon, Special Assistant to CM Waqar Mehdi, Principal Secretary to CM Muhammad Siddique Memon and Press Secretary to CM Allah Bachayo Memon were also present in the meeting.-PR
