Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif has said that darkness of terrorism, extremism, poverty, unemployment and ignorance can be removed by imparting modern knowledge to the younger generation. He said only those countries have progressed in the world which have spent their resources on education and training of their youth.
He said Punjab government has adopted a concrete strategy for promotion of education and imparting knowledge to every child. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said, with establishment of IT labs in more than four thousand schools and distribution of laptops among brilliant students, the younger generation would benefit from modern inventions and knowledge available at the international level.
He said Pakistan is facing serious challenges of terrorism, corruption, loadshedding and unemployment, while Pakistan Muslim League-N is the only party which can bring the country out of these crises, under the dynamic leadership of Muhammad Nawaz Sharif. He said, during the last five years, Punjab government has promoted exemplary good governance, merit and transparency and has eliminated nepotism, safarish, and embezzlement. He said that the Punjab government diverted its resources towards the poor people and the fruits of its welfare projects are being enjoyed by the common man while the living standards of the people has improved.
The Chief Minister expressed these views while talking to members of the assembly belonging to various districts on Tuesday. Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N considers serving the people as an article of faith, while the Punjab government has taken concrete steps to bring downtrodden segments into the mainstream of progress, besides adopting effective measures to enable the common man to have access to resources.
He said that the people of Punjab are benefiting from great welfare projects, like the Aashiyana Housing Project, establishment of Daanish Schools, Educational Endowment Fund, Internship Programme, laptop distribution, Green Tractor Scheme and Self-Employment Scheme. He said that people have termed the unique project of the metro bus service as the best system in the history of transport.
The Chief Minister said now people are fully aware that they cannot be hoodwinked, because they have realised who are the elements that have deprived them of the fruits of a democratic government, because today people neither have electricity nor gas. He said that the whole country is drowned in darkness due to the corruption of the Islamabad-based rulers, who would now be rejected by the people in the general elections, because plunder and corruption of these looters, thieves and dacoits is well-known to everyone.
He said that corrupt rulers are the real problem of Pakistan, because the Zardari government has broken all records of corruption in the last 65 years and the national exchequer and resources have been ruthlessly plundered. He said that foreign investors are reluctant to go to Islamabad, but they have invested billions of rupees in the Punjab, including the metro bus service and energy projects, which shows that elimination of corruption is essential to combat problems facing the country.
The Chief Minister said that Pakistan is now heading towards new elections, and people would bring forth a capable, sincere and honest leadership through the power of their vote. He said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N would participate in the general elections on the basis of the great performance of its government, and on the basis of adopting simplicity, saving national resources and eradication of corruption in the country. He said that if the people were given another opportunity, the country would be put on the road to progress and prosperity, and Pakistan would be transformed into a country envisioned by Quaid-e-Azam and Allama Iqbal.
