Owing to energy and gas shortage, he maintained the industrial growth remained stagnant, while more than 4,500 industrial units alone closed down in port-city of Karachi. He said the situation was also worst in KP and Fata due to closure of industries, which was generated huge unemployment, adding that no effective measures were taken for up-gradation and rehabilitation of existing industrial units in the Faisalabad and elsewhere in the country.

In wake of poor law and order situation, he said, "People are feeling insecure and their life and property unsafe."
