The Khyber Pakthunkhwa Governor Engr. Shaukatullah Khan here on Wednesday distributed certificates to 174 students after successful completion of their education and vocational training in 9 different technical courses here at Khyber Institute for Technical Education, (KITE).
Addressing the 13th annual certificate distribution ceremony of the KITE held under the aegis of 11 Corps of Pakistan Army and Fata Development Authority (FDA) at Garrison Complex, Peshawar Cantt, the KP governor has lauded the services being rendered by KITE to the under privileged youth of the society, particularly from tribal areas, to lead them to the mainstream of the society.
Corps Commander Peshawar, Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani, Inspector General Frontier Corps, Ghayoor Mehmood, Chairman KITE, Brigadier Abdul Naeem Bhatti and Chief Executive FATA Development Authority Shah Sahib were also present on the occasion. Speaking as chief guest, the governor said KITE was playing a vital role by involving the youth in constructive and positive activities and urged the successful students to utilise their skills for the well being of the people and prosperity of the country.
He said the government was making revolutionary measures for promotion of quality education and vocational training in Khyber Pakthunkhwa and FATA as it was the only way forward to bolster peace efforts and make the country developed. The governor said the government was giving top priority to equip tribal students with ornament of education vital to improve their socio-economic conditions.
To take full advantage of tribal students' potential, he said, the government was utilising all available resources to establish a network of quality technical and vocational institutions in FATA to enable them to get dignified jobs inside and outside the country and contribute in the process of national development.
To make FATA cradle of peace and improve law and order situation, he said, positive and constructive results could be obtained by providing quality education and vocational training to tribal students so that they could not go into wrong hands and utilise their energies in constructive and positive activities.
In fact, the governor said, law and order and poverty are the major issues of FATA that could be tackled by bolstering technical, IT and science education and provision of other social services keeping in view of its huge potential in generating employment opportunities in the country and overseas and poverty alleviation.
Engr Shaukat Ullah Khan assured full support to the administration of KITE and FDA in their future endeavours, expressing optimism that these premier organisations will continue efforts for providing quality education and vocational training facilities to tribal students in future.
On this occasion, the governor announced Rs 5000 for each passed out student, urging them to get full advantage of their education and training imparted to them. Chairman KITE, Brigadier Abdul Naeem Bhattai in his welcome address said that so far 2100 students were imparted training in different technical courses including land survey, mobile repair, office automation, air conditioned, auto electricians and plumber etc in this premier institute and they are taking full advantage of their technical skills and education inside and abroad besides contributing for economy of the country. He also threw light on the objectives and achievements of KITE.
