Muttahida Qaumi Movement Central Punjab has accused Punjab government of harassing its workers, as the popularity of the party was increasing across the province. President MQM Central Punjab Syed Shaheen Anwar Gilani, SVP Mobeen Qazi, Bisma Asif Sukhera General Secretary Malik Waseem Khokhar addressed a press conference here on Thursday to highlight injustices being done to their workers.
They said that police raided house of MQM's Member Co-ordination Committee Iftikhar Randhawa in Jehanian area in an attempt to harass his family on Wednesday. They regretted that the raid was conducted at a time when MQM workers had gathered at the residence of Randhawa to condole death of his cousin. They claimed that the PML-N was afraid of rising popularity of MQM in Punjab, alleging that the workers of the MQM were being harassed deliberately after the party announced to participate in polls from all constituencies.
