Chief Executive Pakistan Industrial Development Corporation (PIDC) Khalid Mehmood Chadda said on Wednesday that National Industrial Parks Development and Management Company (NIPDMC) had appropriately addressed the two main concerns of Karachi's industrial sector at their flagship project Korangi Creek Industrial Park (KCIP), which would definitely attract both local and foreign investment.
Addressing the license agreement signing ceremony between NIPMC and three companies of national repute, Mobil Askari Limited, Al-Rehman Lubricants and Faruk Impex, he said that NIPMC was rightly introducing advanced biometric security system, which would help curb entry of unwanted persons in the premises. The installation of this system, the first of its kind at any industrial complex, would attract all those who were hesitant to set up industrial units because of fragile law and order situation in the city, he added.
He further said that NIPDMC was ensuring uninterrupted power supply through its 48MW captive power plant. He appreciated the entire team of NIPDMC for establishing such an impressive industrial zone which was badly needed as the city's biggest industrial zone, Sindh Industrial Trading Estate (SITE), was already overloaded.
He said that such industrial parks were available in other developed countries of the world but in Pakistan this was a new concept and as such this state-of-the-art industrial zone was bound to attract entrepreneurs. Earlier, speaking on the occasion NIPDMC CEO Mohsin Syed said that for the first time NIP was introducing biometric system with the help and assistance of Nadra, which would provide a foolproof security system to industrial units at KCIP.
The project launched by NIP through its own window operation system offers entrepreneurs with guaranteed uninterrupted power supply through 48MW captive power plant and all essential utilities like water, gas and telecommunication at their doorstep. The main attraction of this industrial zone is perimeter wall with controls entry and exit to the complex spreading over an area of 250 acres at Korangi Creek offering a safe and secure environment to the industrialists. To date approximately 75 percent of the total available plots have been sold-out while a number of applications are still in the pipeline. This shows the confidence that NIPMC has earned over the years through its hard work, transparent policies and efficient teamwork.-PR
