A delegation of the Jamaat-i-Islami, headed by JI Secretary General Liaqat Baloch called on Jamhoori Watan party chief Nawabzada Talal Akbar Bugti, in the Punjab capital and exchanged views with him on the political situation, the situation in Balochistan, the forthcoming elections, and the formation of the caretaker government.
At the meeting, Talal Bugti told the delegation that his party would endorse the name for the caretaker PM proposed by the like-minded parties. He said the situation called for an APC on Balochistan as the situation there was getting worst day by day, adding if the involvement of the agencies continued, Balochistan would have engineered elections. He further said in case the Supreme Court called for evidence in connection with the law and order in Balochistan, his party could present the same.
Talal Bugti further said people of the Bugti tribe were camping in districts of Nasirabad, Jafferabad, Kohlu, Marri, Kayan, Rahimyar Khan and Sadiqabad, however, their voting anywhere except the Dera Bugti would not be accepted. At the meeting, Liaqat Baloch extended all out support of the JI for the constitutional and democratic rights of the Balochistan people, and said the JI would contact the other opposition parties including the PML-N Chief Mian Nawaz Sharif, on the issue of the APC for Balochistan.
