The medical board constituted after the mysterious death of Kamran Faisal, an official of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) probing Rental Power Plants (RPPs) case, has finalised a medical report after it examined a forensic report prepared by Punjab Forensic Science Agency (PFSA) and declared the death of Kamran Faisal as suicide.
"The six-member medical board headed by Dr Anayatullah Baig comprising Dr Imtiaz Hussain, Dr Javeed, Dr Tanveer, Dr Altaf Shah and Dr Iftikhar Malik has finalised the medical report and handed over it to Islamabad police investigation team probing Kamran Faisal death, on Saturday," hospital sources said. Sources said the medical board after examination of forensic report prepared by PFSA and post-mortem reports prepared by Polyclinic doctors declared the death of Kamran Faisal as suicide.
Dr Sharif Astori, the spokesman of Polyclinic, told media persons that a six-member medical board had finalised and handed over to the police investigators a sealed report. Dr Astori, however, did not spell out the reason or reasons behind NAB investigator's death. Earlier, the capital police asked the hospital administration to conclude the report soon so that it could be presented before the Supreme Court on February 19.
However, sources said that according to a forensic report prepared by PFSA, there were signs of torture on the body of Kamran Faisal, which confirmed that Kamran was tortured before death. The report compiled by forensic experts further stated that no intoxicant was found in Kamran body parts, they said. Faisal was found hanging with a ceiling fan in a government hostel on January 18. The initial findings of an autopsy said Faisal committed suicide, but his family and some of his colleagues believed he was murdered. Later the forensic experts exhumed the body to determine the nature of his death.
