The Punjab Education Foundation (PEF) has planned to make an annual increase of Rs 50 for next five years in the students' fee of its partner schools to enable the partners so that they can arrange better educational facilities for the students as well as to pay better salaries to the teachers.
This was stated by Chairman Punjab Education Foundation Raja Muhammad Anwar while addressing the prize-distribution function of a PEF partner school at Nishtar Colony on Saturday.
Raja Anwar informed that PEF has also decided to de-cap the ceiling of students in schools partnered under the foundation-assisted schools' programme from the month of April with the view to provide an opportunity to the maximum number of deserving and needy students to benefit from this facility of gratis education. He informed that PEF has also planned to educate the out of school children. These children will be provided free educational facilities in the partner schools and PEF will bear all expenses. This initiative would go a long way in changing the lives of the hapless and impecunious children who have no economic means to access their fundamental right to education, he maintained.
Raja Anwar observed that Pakistani society should adopt useful interventions to arrange the education of all the children because Pakistani society can only achieve, acclaim and prosperity through education and by prompting a culture of research and development.
