The Co-ordination Committee of Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Tuesday termed the analysis on a private TV channel about serious differences between the MQM leadership and Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan over his resignation. It termed the analysis as baseless, highly speculative and misleading. It said that certain elements were trying to create misconceptions in the minds of the MQM workers over its political differences with PPP.
These elements are trying to propagate that MQM leader Altaf Hussain no longer wanted Dr Ishratul Ebad to hold the office of Governor Sindh under any condition. In a statement, the Co-ordination Committee said such malicious analyses were part of a disinformation campaign against MQM having nothing to do with reality. This was being done to create restlessness in the rank and file of MQM and confusion in the minds of people.
It said, in no uncertain terms, Dr Ishratul Ebad enjoyed full confidence of Altaf Hussain. The news that Altaf Hussain wanted to remove Dr Ishrat-ul-Ebad from his office was totally unfounded.
The Co-ordination Committee said MQM is a democratic political party in which all political decisions are taken collectively after threadbare discussions. As far as the resignation of Dr Ebad was concerned, it was a decision based on the call of his own conscience. It asked workers and the general public not to give ears to rumours.
