The Punjab government has taken an initiative to arrange a seminar tomorrow on "Trade Defence Instruments and Level Playing Field for the domestic industry" here at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
A spokesman of WTO Cell of Industries, Commerce and Investment department, Punjab told Business Recorder that the liberalisation of trade under World Trade Organisation has not only opened up new exports opportunities for domestic industry but also given rise to possibilities of sudden rise in imports through unfair trading practices, such as dumping of goods below their normal prices in domestic market.
He said in order to disseminate awareness among domestic manufacturers/traders and other stake holders against such unfair trading practices, a seminar has been arranged in collaboration with National Tariff Commission, Ministry of Commerce on to be held on Thursday at the LCCI.
