The Supreme Court on Wednesday sought complete record from Judge Advocate-General (JAG) branch pertaining to two accused allegedly involved in the attack on former Army Chief General Pervez Musharraf (Retd). A three-judge bench, led by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry, was hearing the petition filed by Advocate Hashmat Habib on behalf of the two accused, Rana Naveed and Amir Sohail.
During the proceeding, the Chief Justice observed that it is binding on military courts to follow every Article of the Constitution with full spirit. Hashmat Habib contended that his clients were denied a fair trial and were awarded death sentence by a military court, adding that there was no evidence against the accused. Habib pleaded that the applicants did not move any appeal against the military court's decision on life sentence.
