Prime Min-ister Raja Pervez Ashraf Friday directed the Ministry of Water and Power to ensure optimum electricity generation for uninterrupted power supply to consumers. The Prime Minister also asked the Ministry of Water and Power to constantly monitor the fuel availability and situation of stock in thermal power plants and also to closely co-ordinate with the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Resources, and the Ministry of Finance.

Those who attended the meeting included Dr Asim Hussain, Advisor to Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources, Saleem H Mandiwalla, Finance Minister, Syed Raghib Abbas Shah, Chairman WAPDA and senior officials of the government.
