All Pakistan Motor Dealers Association (APMDA) considers removal of NTN to buy cars is aimed at facilitating election rigging. Chairman, APMDA, H.M.Shahzad in a letter sent to the Chief Election Commissioner, former Justice Fakhruddin G. Ebrahim has brought to his attention the decision of the Finance Minister regarding the removal of NTN requirement for purchase of new car.
"When the elections are round the corner, such decisions which are clearly a favour to a particular class should not be allowed. Now the influential non-tax payers could buy any number of cars to give as bribes to voters, workers and in horse trading without coming into lime light." "This is openly rigging of elections and CEC is requested to immediately get this decision reversed and stop all such decisions and leave them to the new government," Shahzad said.-PR
