The Gilgit-Baltistan Home Department has formed a counter-terrorism unit in the wake of increasing terror threats. The counter-terrorism unit will comprise of 90 trained personnel. Meanwhile, the Home Department has expressed fears of a major terror attack in Gilgit or any other area.
It said that terrorists could target Gilgit or Skardu. It said that any key installation could be hit with truck-laden explosives. In the wake of terror threats, the Home Department has decided to keep a close eye on Afghan refugees and other people, who don't have CNICs.
