The President of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Asad Qaiser said that if his party voted in next general election, the establishment of peace and normalcy will be top priority in this province. "PTI has been set a number of priorities to provide basic education, health facilities and tackle with key issues like, energy, lawlessness and unemployment in the country, said provincial president, Asad Qaiser while speaking at a Guest Hour's Programme here at Press Club on Thursday.
He said the establishment of peace and lasting calm was only panacea of all ills. Therefore, he said the PTI will give top priority to this issue, if the party comes into power in next general election in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. He blamed the rulers for pushing the country into other war, which was ultimately suffered the own people.
"PTI will end alliance in the ongoing war against terrorism, if elected, Qaiser said. He said his party has always opted for resolution of all issues in peaceful way, adding that the policy would continue in future as well. He further said that his party would bring reforms by depoliticizing the police department.
"We will have maximum focus to bound law enforcement agencies to ensure peace at all cost", he maintained. A well-trained and equipped police force would be introduced to maintain law and order situation, he added. The PTI provincial president said that education was a second most priority with special focus on development of technical skills, to recognise and to compete our labour force at both national and international market. We will raise education budget at 6 percent of the total GDP, he claimed. Regarding the child labour, he said that specific law would be promulgated to impose ban of children at auto workshop, hotels and other places. He said they would also establish a boarding school to children working at various places. A scholarship programme would be introduced for provision of free-education facilities to the poor and deserving people, he maintained.
About the provision of health facilities, he said PTI will establish branches of Shuakat Khanum Hospital at every district under the comprehensive health programme. He said that his party would initiate various hydro-power generation projects to meet the growing demand of energy in this province. He viewed the electricity consumption is less than its installed capacity, despite that people are facing hour long load shedding, adding that there were huge potential of water resources to generate sufficient electricity as per increasing demand. "A total demand was around 2,400 mega watt, while only 1,000 mega watt electricity were supplied to province, he informed. "We can generate around 4,500 mega watt only from district Chitral, but the government didn't work on it, he lamented.
